Breville Upgraded: The 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor
Breville delivers another smash hit with its 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite Juice Extractor. In fact, we like it so much that we have named it 2015’s Best Mid-Range Model. Read our review to see why!
What We Love about the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL
Not only does the die-cast material make this one of the sturdiest and well-built juicers on the market, but it also makes it one of the most attractive juicers that we have seen. It looks right at home in a kitchen with other stainless steel appliances and its sleek and stylish design means that this is an appliance that you will not be ashamed of having on your counter. It is also quite solid, large, and hefty—in other words, you can feel the quality.
Easy to clean
There are only four parts that need to be rinsed after using this juicer, which means that we had it clean and put back together incredibly quickly. Definitely a plus for the juicer on the go!
The 3-inch wide feeder chute is sure to be a big hit with those who either do not like or who simply do not have the time to spend thirty minutes to an hour preparing their fruits and veggies for juicing. This Breville can handle whole and half pieces of fruit with ease, requiring very little prep work and speeding up the entire juicing process in general. The pulp container is also useful while making an assortment of juices.
While we very rarely used the second speed, the fact that this machine offers two speeds is a bonus for those who like to juice harder fruit and vegetables. We found that this juicer produced plenty of juice very quickly, which, when combined with the easy cleanup, made this one of the fastest juicers we have ever used, from prep time until after we had finished reassembling it after cleaning it.
The blade makes the $300 price tag incredibly worth it, at least in our opinion. It stays sharper longer, cuts through food much more effectively, and produces more juice than regular blades.

Best suited for:
Just like other powerful centrifugal juicers, the Breville Juice Fountain Elite is best suited for juicing solid, bulky fruits and veggies such as:
What to expect with regard to juice quality and yield? You will get a good amount of dry pulp and extraction with hard produce. On the other hand, there will be almost no pulp. The finished drink is quite smooth in terms of texture, while the overall taste is pleasant with no distinct flavor. Actually, this product is ideal for those who are in the market for a sturdy, high-speed juicer that is proven to produce superior quality juices with little leftover pulp. But remember that it only fits the bill for hard produce.
Not so great for:
If you are looking to regularly juice leafy greens and softer things like oranges, peaches, grapes, kiwi, plums and tomatoes, this juicer isn’t your best choice. It’s not so great for these things, as it creates a watery blend.
Furthermore, the flavor can be a little muted or neutral. Your juice will still be free of pulp or there will be only traces of pulp, but you’ll end up with lots of foam floating on the top. If you want to use the Elite for leafy greens, go with the low-speed setting. Yet the amount of extracted juice will still be less than average.
What Needs Improvement on the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL
The warranty only lasts for one year, which is disconcerting when you consider the price tag. Other brands have 15-year or even lifetime warranties, and we would like to see Breville offer something like that.
This is not something we experienced for ourselves, but our research showed that there was a recurring theme in the customer complaints and that was horrible customer service. Some reported that they were unhelpful, others said they were just plain rude, and a few were even hung up on.
This is our #1 mid-range price juicer for a reason—it is an all-around great machine. We recommend it for juicers who need a reliable and high-speed way to make juice. We think that it is easy enough for a beginner to use; in fact, if a juicing newbie wants to start off with a more sophisticated machine that will produce higher quality juice than a low-budget model, this is the machine that we recommend for that. And, because it does produce juice that is comparable to more expensive machines, and because it holds up fine under daily use (and maybe a little abuse), we say that it is the best all-around model for intermediate juicers, or even those looking to augment their masticating juicer with a centrifugal juicer that can handle softer foods with much less prep time.
Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite Verdict
If you are a home-juicing enthusiast looking to make fresh juice in no time, then this juicer is for you. This centrifugal juicer is built to last a lifetime and it is extremely easy to maintain and clean. Strong construction with quite a lot of stainless steel components allows for hassle-free cleaning as well as long years of dependability. Anyone on the lookout for a long-lasting juicer with quick operations and maximum efficiency will surely love the 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite.
Raw power and high-speed performance can be a double-edged sword, though. The high rotation speed tends to cause a mess, whereas pieces and bits get tossed in a pulp container, thereby wasting your produce. In addition, the juicer is not the best choice when it comes to leafy greens. So if you want to get more bang for your bucks, you are advised to juice bulky and hard produces.
